This part entire letter was posted at the Newton St Loe receiving house 'No21' and put into the Bath penny post on September 22nd 1834. The letter was backstamped with a circular 'BATH' the same day addressed to Dunfermline receiving a manuscript '1/3d' postal charge which is made up of 1d local post and 1/2d mileage charge to Scotland. The letter received a circular backstamp in red dated September 24th 1834 on arrival in Edinburgh. An Additional ½d was indicated once in red and once in black thought to be at Manchester and again at Edinburgh but there is no indication that this is paid.

The part letter refers to the fact that Mrs Pennington was traveling to Paris and asked for her dividends in November to be forwarded through Rothchilds Bank as they were going to be staying at No.8 Rue Louis le Grande.
