Special Event

The Berlin Airlift

On October 18th three Royal Mail films covering the above subject will be shown at The Museum of Bath at Work (MOBAW) in Julian Road, off Lansdown Hill, Bath Postcode BA1 2RH. This is a joint venture between MOBAW and BPM

Our Chairman Hugh Jefferies MBE and Stuart Burroughs of MOBAW will be carrying out the introductions.

Hugh who is Editor in Chief of the Stanley Gibbons Catalogues was actually born in Berlin during the Airlift.

The event, which is free to enter, will start at 12.30 and sandwiches with tea/or coffee will be available to purchase for a light lunch.

There are three films which should last about 45 minutes. If anyone wishes to go to the Bath Postal Museum at
27a Green Street Bath afterwards to view the display of some of the material carried during the Airlift there will be a specially reduced charge of £2.

MOBAW holds a large library of Royal Mail films which are very well produced, some have won awards. It is planned that we hold these events monthly until further notice.
